When it comes to expertise in building machines that deliver not only physical movements or mechanical prowess, but also a human experience that is comfortable and exhilarating at the same time, no other name comes to mind except the company that gave the world the “H1,” “Z1” and “GPz900R” names. A Company whose motorcycle roots go as far back as 1953 and whose entire being is centered in machines that float on water, ride on pavements, carve thru mud and soar through the air.

Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. currently manufactures all sorts of machines that move people & products, produce electricity, go racing, fly, go over water & more. They make motorcycles, ATVs (all-terrain vehicles), recreation utility vehicles, utility vehicles, Jet Ski watercrafts and general-purpose gasoline engines for farming, generators, production, etc. and have factories all over the world in the USA, Europe & Asia but their mother factory is still based in Japan.

The one thing you will find interesting in Kawasaki’s way of doing things is that they actively seek technologies and expertise from all their product lines and use it to improve all their other product lines. Simply put – as an example, it would not be surprising to find some of the tech from their airplanes division and some of the software from their robotics division to find its way into your Kawasaki motorcycle. This is the kind of symbiotic existence that Kawasaki builds into its entire company. But Kawasaki does not stop at a constantly evolving science behind their machines. They actually put people first before their machines seen through their very clear and unwavering set of beliefs. They believe that all their motorcycles should “Possess both Power and Gentleness”.

They also believe they should “Be Fun and Rewarding to Control”. And lastly, they believe that all their motorcycles should be “Reliable, Durable and Performance driven”. So you will not be mistaken in describing any Kawasaki motorcycle as fast but maneuverable, aggressive yet tamed, competitive yet built to last.” This rider-centric development philosophy has been the driving force behind all of their motorcycles and will always be so for years to come.

This year’s most anticipated Kawasaki – the Ninja ZX-25R is another shining example of how Kawasaki pushes the envelope without losing sight of all their core principles. The ZX-25R comes with a 249.8cc, 16-valve DOHC, fuel-injected, liquid-cooled, in-line 4-cylinder engine with a 6-speed gearbox giving a maximum power of 51 hp @ 15,500 rpm and Maximum Torque of 22.9 Nm @ 14,500 rpm and redlines beyond 17,000rpm developed through feedback from its ZX cousins and created for the more sports-minded rider longing for a racing type street machine but with track capabilities out of the box and.
In case you read past that too quickly… it has a 250cc FOUR PISTON racing derived ENGINE! Not a twin cylinder. Not a single. Not 3. FOUR (4). As in, “The Only” 250cc in-line 4 today. It doesn’t get any better than that. So remember this – the next time you ride your Kawasaki motorcycle like the ZX25R, realize that the machine giving you a thrilling memorable ride with so much comfort and control; has a little bit of Jet Ski in it. And It has a little bit of jet turbine technology; and a hint of robotics; a touch of airplane; a spec of marine machinery; and a dab of industrial plant science in it. And that is precisely why Kawasaki today is one of the top names when it comes to motorcycles. Because with Kawasaki, you can be sure that all your good times will just keep on rolling.
