California Superbike School

February 14, 2025
Once every year, there is a wonderful activity that happens at the Clark International Speedway in Pampanga where around 80 of the most discerning and skillful road riders gather together not to race or to compete in any way, but to study.
The California Superbike School (CSS) is not a motorcycle racing-focused learning school despite its global reputation and slogan that states “The Art of Cornering”. It is in fact a safety focused school whose foundation lies on the fundamental idea that proper training, correct theoretical understanding and guided instruction which results in a safer and mature rider who can also happen to kick some ass on track days.

The learning comes in 4 levels of training but you can only take 2 levels at any given CSS weekend – one level per day of training. Some riders repeat some levels on purpose because they wish to improve on a specific skill set. Coaches come from all over the world with backgrounds as various as the students but with one common similarity – all the coaches are well trained, well practiced and loves riding and teaching.

At the heart of this year’s CSS, the main support came from two companies with a passion for riding and safety. The smooth, refined and powerful Kawasaki ZX-10R was at the forefront of the training weekend held last February 15-16, 2020 ridden by all the coaches. It is the flagship motorcycle of Kawasaki, whose “Let the Good Times Roll” slogan rings true in every power and precision aspect of the ZX-10R on every stretch, every turn, every braking point and every chicane. While on the advocacy flip side is Wheeltek’s firm belief that safety though proper training is the highest form of advocacy to protect all riders, their lives and their families.

If you missed the last CSS and wish to join the next one, don’t worry. We will be holding it every year in February. So till then, ride safe and God bless you all.
